Volunteer Training

Imagine LA volunteers participate in a one-time training program.  This training is taught in collaboration with Imagine LA staff and Homeless Service Providers case managers.  The training is comprised of two components:

  • Homelessness Sensitivity Training
  • Mentorship Information and Guidelines

Homelessness Education and Sensitivity Training focuses on:

  • Understanding the root cause of and effects of homelessness
  • The current homeless population, trends and other statistics
  • Family Homelessness
  • The people behind the label

Mentorship Information and Guidelines:

  • Nature of Mentorship 
  • Mentorship Guidelines and Communication
  • The Value of Establishing Boundaries
