Ending Homelessness: We're All Part of the Solution

Partnering with the Ebell of Los Angeles, Imagine LA created an expert panel about Ending Homelessness in Los Angeles, held October 25th and moderated by our president and CEO, Jill Bauman. The goal: to educate the community about the state of homelessness in LA, show how various organizations are addressing the problem, and share ways to help and engage. Close to 400 people attended – standing room only!

The panel is summed up nicely in this Larchmont Buzz article. We’re extra thrilled that 25 people signed up to be Imagine LA mentors on the spot.

Panelists were:

Greg Spiegel, Director of Strategy, Inner City Law Center; Mayor Garcetti’s first Homelessness Policy Director

Phil Ansell, Director, The Los Angeles County Homeless Initiative

Kerry Morrison, Proposition HHH Oversight Committee Executive Director, Hollywood Property Owners’ Alliance

Veronica Arteaga, Vice President, Housing Programs, St. Anne’s

Alisa Orduna, Homelessness Policy Director, Office of Mayor Eric Garcetti

State Assemblyman Richard Bloom gave a keynote and City Councilmember David Ryu delivered welcoming remarks.

A video of the panel is archived on the Ebell’s Facebook feed and Jill’s been working with the panelists (all terrific friends of Imagine LA!) to post all Q&As submitted that day to the Ebell’s page. Here is a one-sheet you can share with your networks about how to help. (If you have any problems accessing this, please contact andy@imaginela.org.)
