Please join us in welcoming George Phillips to Imagine LA's Board of Directors! A native Angeleno, Certified Public Accountant and attorney who has practiced law in Downtown Los Angeles for more than 25 years, George brings a wealth of expertise to our leadership team.
George's family firm, Phillips Law Partners LLP, specializes in Trust and Estates litigation and planning, business litigation, real estate and business law. He acts as outside general counsel for many closely held companies and farming concerns, and is involved in succession planning as well as sophisticated estate planning. His firm also has a tax compliance department that augments its legal practice.
On top of his legal and tax expertise, George is an experienced real estate broker, developer and investor as well as a gentleman farmer who owns and manages a farm operation in the Coachella Valley. He is actively involved in his church and community and has served on various boards and committees of the United Armenian Congregational Church, the Merdinian Armenian School and the Los Angeles Tennis Club. He currently serves on the development committee of the Armenian Missionary Association of America, and on the board of Camp Arev, a Christian camping ministry. He founded Wilshire Softball, a softball league for girls ages 6-14 in the Mid-City of Los Angeles.
"After investigating private sector responses to homelessness, I learned about Imagine LA and the great work it has been doing," George said. "I was particularly drawn to its unique, impactful mentorship model, and its focus on families with children. I am hopeful that I can contribute to Imagine LA’s expansion within the community and positively impact many families’ lives."
George will serve on Imagine LA's finance committee.
Earlier this month, we welcomed Rebecca Hutchinson to our management team. As Vice President, she will oversee communications, development and Imagine LA's community engagement efforts.
Rebecca joins our staff after consulting with Imagine LA for the past year. Over her 25-year career in public relations, marketing communications and grassroots outreach, Rebecca has advised clients ranging from start-ups to government agencies, non-profits and consumer product companies. She has held leadership roles and managed new business development at LA and DC offices of a top global PR firm and at two LA-based lifestyle firms.
An East Coast transplant, Rebecca has been a proud Angeleno since moving here to earn her M.A. in Communications Management from the Annenberg School at USC in the ‘90s. She volunteers with her daughters’ schools and sports teams and Planned Parenthood, and leads strategic planning for The Ebell of Los Angeles. One of her proudest achievements is co-founding Larchmont Charter School, which her daughters attended and where she still serves on the Board.
