Imagine LA harnesses the power of volunteer mentorship teams (from faith communities, companies and other committed organizations) and existing community resources to empower families to transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency.
Acting as the facilitator of our two-year, highly structured
mentorship program, Imagine LA trains faith community volunteers in
homeless sensitivity and mentorship, matches them with families exiting
homelessness, links them to a full spectrum of existing social services
and resources, and guides them in a step-by-step process. The
program empowers faith communities of all types throughout Los Angeles
County to help families experiencing homelessness in a meaningful,
lasting way. Families and volunteers are given a safe and guided
opportunity to work alongside one another to address the families'
underlying issues, needs and goals, helping them to
permanently exit the cycle of poverty, become self-sufficient and thrive over a two-year period of time.
