Volunteer and Operations Director
Ashley Dezen joined the Imagine LA family in June 2016. She is Imagine LA's Volunteer and Operations Director. She is responsible for volunteer onboarding and daily operations.
Ashley graduated from Northeastern University with a Masters in Non Profit Management, focusing on International Economics. She received her BA from Nazareth College of Rochester, majoring in History with minors in Political Science and Art History.
Ashley is dedicated to service and community action. Following graduation from undergrad she served for two years with AmeriCorps through the Massachusetts Promise Fellowship, developing and leading a mentorship program for formerly incarcerated youth. In the following years, she pivoted to working with small community minded startups, helping to develop their internal operations. She then spent two years serving with the Peace Corps in rural Thailand, as a Youth Development Volunteer. There, she collaborated extensively with Thai education leaders and youth in a variety of projects, helped implement a joint Camp GLOW and BROS event by securing government grant funding, and also supported fellow volunteers on the Peer Support and Diversity Network. She created student driven projects and programs that were focused on English education, job readiness, financial literacy, stress management and nutrition.
When Ashley is not working, she is most likely exploring one of LA's many parks or playing fetch with her beloved pup.
