Jill Govan Bauman

President & CEO

Jill Bauman is the President and CEO of Imagine LA. She is passionate about engaging the community to eliminate chronic family poverty and homelessness in Los Angeles and beyond. She initially joined the organization in 2007 as a member of the Board of Directors, and later that year took on the staff leadership position. With wonderful staff and amazing volunteers, she wrote the organization's first business plan, and along with the help of many collaborative partners also built the innovative Imagine LA family mentorship model.  In 2013, armed with six years of ending family homelessness and chronic poverty results, she again worked with an amazing group of volunteers, collaborative partners and business/non-profit professionals to create Imagine LA's five-year Sustainability and Scalability Plan.  Now knee deep in executing the plan, Ms. Bauman is more enthusiastic than ever about engaging the whole community to have a part in ending family homelessness and chronic family poverty in Los Angeles.

Jill came to Imagine LA as a seasoned entrepreneur, business development executive and fundraiser. Her 25 years of experience include computer system design for American Management Systems, investment banking for Banque Paribas, fundraising for numerous political and non-profit organizations, launching three companies and helping numerous others with their business initiatives, including Ernst & Young, M Squared Consulting, University Access and Coats and Clark.

Jill is an active member of the Los Angeles community and has helped start two non-profits as well as develop an adopt-a-family program and a transitional housing facility for women and children. She is a former Board member of the Los Angeles Women's Foundation and co-founder of Weingart Center Partners. She is also an Elder in the Presbyterian Church, a founder of Thad's Episcopal Church and an Honorary member of Leo Baeck Temple.

Jill has her Bachelor's degree in Economics from Smith College and an MPPM/MBA from Yale University. She and her family currently reside in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles.
