Teddy M. Kapur is a partner at the law firm Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones LLP, the largest corporate restructuring and bankruptcy law firm in the country. Prior to joining the PSZJ team, Kapur was a vice president at AIG SunAmerica Affordable Housing Partners, Inc. and an attorney at O’Melveny & Myers LLP. With a long-standing interest in community service, his passion for advocacy and public policy with respect to homelessness issues propels his work as Imagine LA’s board chair.

Teddy earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law, his master’s in public administration from Harvard University, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Rice University. As an undergraduate, Teddy was elected chairperson of the Rice Student Volunteer Program, the university’s largest community service organization. His community service efforts continued at Harvard, where his team won First Place in the Greater Boston Affordable Housing Development Competition. During law school, he volunteered at the Urban Justice Center and The Legal Aid Society, and served as an overnight volunteer at The Friends Shelter in New York City.

In 2011, Teddy founded the Los Angeles chapter of Turnaround Underground, a national organization that coordinates networking opportunities for mid-level restructuring professionals. During his 3 years of leadership, he organized more than a dozen events bringing together more than 500 professionals in Southern California.

In 2014, the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association recognized Teddy as one of the “Best Lawyers Under 40.” The Recorder has also named Kapur a “Lawyer on the Fast Track,” identifying him among the 50 attorneys in California “whose early accomplishments indicate they will be tomorrow’s top lawyers and leaders.”
