Meet our April Partner of the Month – Cedars-Sinai

Founded in 1902, Cedars-Sinai has devoted itself to a four-part mission of providing excellent patient care, leading medical research, educating the next generation of medical professionals, and improving the health status of the community.

At the heart of this mission is the concept, “Be a Blessing,” something they’ve been to Imagine LA for many years!

With in-kind donations and grants totaling more than $250,000 to date, Cedars-Sinai has shown its dedication through transformative contributions and incredible board members. With the support of Jonathan Schreiber, Vice President, Community Engagement, and Erin Jackson-Ward, Director, Community Benefit Giving Office, Cedars-Sinai has funded several impactful projects, including establishing our Ambassadors Program and equipping us to capture some of our Ambassadors’ stories on video. They jumped to help in the first weeks of the pandemic and built our capacity to recruit and train more Mentors for our youth.

Jill Martin, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation, served on Imagine LA’s Board of Directors from 2015 until recently stepping down at the end of 2021. In addition to serving as a critical conduit for the organizational partnership, Jill was an active and instrumental Board Member, adding deep value to Imagine LA’s growth and enhancement in program, operations, and accounting.

“Jill has a knack for asking the questions we need to hear. Building smart, sustainable organizations is in her DNA!” says Jill Bauman, Imagine LA President & CEO.

"I've been so lucky to serve on this incredible board and be part of the growth and development of this amazing organization," says Jill Marin.

As Jill steps away, Caroline Goldzweig, MD, Chief Medical Officer for the Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation, fills her shoes. An active Imagine LA Mentor (and past Mentor of the Month!), Caroline brings decades of experience in healthcare delivery and systems optimization.

Her past work includes roles at the Veteran’s Administration, where she oversaw the shift to electronic health records to improve quality of care, and within Cedars-Sinai's Medical Care Foundation, where she increased quality of outcomes, safety, efficiency, and more across the Foundation.

"As a physician and now leader in the medical field, I see the big-picture factors pushing on families and I understand the difficult choices they often face. I’m honored to join this group of change-makers and create a lasting impact for families who want a better life for their children."

We’re honored to celebrate Cedars-Sinai, outgoing Board Co-chair Jill Martin, and incoming Board Member Caroline Goldzweig, and all the value they add to the Imagine LA family.

Thank you, Cedars-Sinai, for your support of our mission to end the cycle of family poverty and homelessness!
