Noreen Ahmed, MPP

Family Team Manager


 

Noreen Ahmed joined Imagine LA as a Family Team Manager in fall 2022. In this role, she manages a caseload of 15 families living at Missouri Place who have experienced homelessness and are now housed, and their respective mentor teams. Noreen does this by providing ongoing, clinical, caring case management to her families and partnering with them to achieve their goals through advocacy, assessment, planning, communication, education, service linkage, and more. Noreen is committed to fostering self-efficacy and advocating to advance each family members’ aspirations and leadership.

Noreen believes programs like Imagine LA hold the keys to shift narratives about vulnerable populations who are often stigmatized and undervalued. She is passionate about joining initiatives that are driven to change these paradigms and create greater collaboration and inclusivity among partners.

Before joining Imagine LA, Noreen earned a master’s in public policy from UCLA and a bachelor's degree in public relations from Boston University. She has over ten years of community development experience, including serving in Mali, West Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer, two terms as an AmeriCorps VISTA, and working as a case manager for young adults.

Noreen has also been active in outreach for the unhoused community. She is developing a series of neighborhood events called Bold as Love, starting in Venice, to uplift the stories and talents of these individuals. She has also served as the homelessness committee co-chair for North Westwood Neighborhood Council.
