Thanksgiving Grab-and-Go was a blast!

Getting started.

Our annual family Thanksgiving Grab-and-Go was a “driveaway” success this year, thanks to our volunteers - and with extra-special thanks to McKinsey, who made this a 2022 Day of Service for their company.

We were able to serve 89 families. Each one received a magnificent care package with comfy robes and towels from NGA Hancock Park, as well as a grocery gift card.

Twenty-six McKinsey volunteers served as our delivery drivers, delivering 61 care packages and gift cards and driving more than 200 miles total. You go, you safe drivers! During the drive they listened to our Startup to Storefront podcast from December to learn more about Imagine LA and the value of innovation in nonprofits.

Board member and program graduate Leilani Reed tells her story.

Afterwards the McKinsey volunteers held a picnic at Lafayette Park for a Q&A and debrief with ILA Community Engagement Director Brian Rosenbaum, and program graduate, family ambassador and board member Leilani Reed, who shared her story of overcoming homelessness and thriving in partnership with ILA.

Thanks again to everyone who participated! Your joyful partnership goes far towards making this a meaningful holiday for our families - and all of us.
