Cambria Tortorelli


Parish Life Director, Holy Family Church

Cambria Tortorelli currently serves as the parish life director at Holy Family Church in South Pasadena, where she has worked since 2008. She brings extensive experience with service and faith communities to her role on the Imagine LA Board of Directors.

Cambria earned her BA in English Language and Literature from Oxford University, and began her career in the European sales and marketing office at the BBC in London. After managing an English school in Japan for three years, Cambria immigrated to the USA in 1994. Here in Los Angeles, she earned her master’s degree in Religious Studies from Mount St. Mary’s University.

Since then, Cambria has greatly served the LA community. She spent 11 years at the Volunteer Center of Los Angeles, eventually becoming the assistant executive director. In 2006, Cambria took over the role of president of Valley Interfaith Council, a nonprofit organization which provided services to more than 85,000 seniors, families in need and people with disabilities per year.

She has been widely recognized in the community for her work concerning social justice and equity. In addition to serving as moderator for the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council for 12 years, she has also served on both the San Fernando and San Gabriel Regional Pastoral Councils, which advise the local regional bishops. She served on the Archdiocesan Justice and Peace Commission for 10 years and is one of the founders of Fair-Trade LA. In 2011, Cambria received the Ignatian Volunteer Corps Madonna della Strada award for her commitment to social justice. She has conducted numerous workshops and retreats, particularly in the area of social justice.
