Pastor Terry Lovell Brown, Sr.


Houston native Terry Lovell Brown, Sr. has served as Senior Pastor of the Liberty Baptist Church of Los Angeles since 2005 and Judson Baptist Church of Carson since 2020.

Pastor Brown graduated from Texas Southern University of Houston, Texas. He attended Dallas Theological Seminary as well as Houston Graduate School of Theology. In 2008, he completed the “Passing The Mantle” Community Development Institute at the University of Southern California. Currently, he is pursuing his Master’s degree at Biola University’s Talbot School of Theology.

Having grown up in the church since birth, Pastor Brown had several strong pastoral influences, including: his late grandfather and first pastor, the Reverend Joseph Brown, Sr.; his father in ministry, the late Dr. A. Louis Patterson, Jr.; and his Bishop, the Reverend James W. E. Dixon, II. 

Pastor Brown has been honored to preach at many churches, revivals and colleges across the country. He has served as Dean of the Ministers’ Conference of the Los Angeles District Association as well as Vice President of Christian Education of the Baptist Ministers’ Conference of Los Angeles and Southern California. He held his previous position as pastor of the Pure Light Baptist Church in Houston, Texas from 1997 to 2004, before relocating to Los Angeles and serving as Pastor of the Liberty Baptist Church of Los Angeles today.
