Vice President, Director of Recruitment, Enrollment & Marketing, University of West Los Angeles

Troy Brown is a Los Angeles native, with a passion for giving back to the area that shaped him. He attended Crossroads School in Santa Monica, where he was awarded a scholarship to play basketball at the prestigious Morehouse College in Atlanta. There, he earned his BA in Marketing and, later, his MS in Organizational Leadership and Business Innovation from the University of West Los Angeles (UWLA).

Today, Troy serves as vice president and director of recruitment, enrollment & marketing at the University of West Los Angeles, where he oversees the day-to-day operations of both the School of Business and School of Law. He is also a professor in the School of Business and teaches various courses on the intersection of business, culture, marketing, and entrepreneurship.

Dedicated to giving back, Troy is further involved in the community beyond his efforts on Imagine LA’s board. He is a mentor for the Achievers Program, where he assists young high school seniors with their college applications and trains them to meet their life goals. A spinal cord injury survivor, Troy makes it a priority to mentor others who have suffered similar injuries throughout L.A. County by instilling hope and perseverance in them during their recovery. He presented a TEDX talk about overcoming tragedy and making the right, conscious decision to continue to persevere no matter the odds.
