Our annual Back to School bash was a huge success!

On August 5th, Imagine LA hosted a celebration at the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles for 202 individuals from 50 families. We are so grateful for all the sponsors, volunteers, and families who joined us. It was a day full of fun, music, art, and community!

There were many activities to choose from, such as a binder cover making station, a painting area sponsored by Patricia's Art, and plenty of carnival games with prizes! The kids had a blast playing in the school bus bouncy house and creating original masterpieces through an interactive art experience with the Immersive Art Collective, who brought their creativity and imagination to life.

We also offered free haircuts to help the kids look sharp, which were sponsored by Paul Mitchell's School of Sherman Oaks and RVM Cutz. They did a fantastic job of making our kids feel confident and ready for school.

Of course, we can't forget about the food! There was something for everyone's taste buds, from cotton candy and shaved ice to delicious tacos. Starbucks sponsored free coffee and pastries for the adults, which was much appreciated. For Goodness Cupcakes also provided Back-to-School themed treats that were adorable and yummy!

We were honored to have the USC Trojan Marching Band kick off the event with their energetic performance. The Blue Rose Performing Arts dance troupe also wowed us with their amazing moves and talent. They showed us how dance can be a powerful form of expression and empowerment. We also had a surprise visit from Elsa, who came to cool everyone off in the hot weather, courtesy of Send In The Clowns.

Our program also featured a very special guest, Congressman Jimmy Gomez, who gave an inspiring speech about the importance of education and opportunity for all. He encouraged our families to pursue their dreams and goals with passion and perseverance.

Naturally, a new school year calls for new school supplies! City National Bank donated over 200 backpacks filled with supplies and National Giving Alliance provided backpacks and school uniforms as well. We were also joined by Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Charities who provided more school supplies, socks, and jump ropes for the kids! Other sponsors included L.A. Care, Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan, and FIGS. We are so grateful for their partnership and generosity, which allowed our families to start off the school year prepared!

This event was truly a joyful celebration of community and inclusivity. We are so proud of our families and their achievements, and we are excited for their future. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible and memorable. We can't wait for next year!
