Missouri Place Black History Month Celebration

Our first Black History Month celebration took place at Missouri Place this week! Passionate volunteers and staff came together to create a truly memorable experience for the families we serve.

There was food, fellowship, a sound bath from Zentola and the Sound Bowlettes, and activities provided by California African American Museum.

Our Youth Ambassador Kawika Smith sang the Black National Anthem and Emcee’d the event and musical artist Jayo provided entertainment throughout the evening.

The menu provided by Black Angus Steakhouse was delicious!

A HUGE thank you to our sponsors Black Angus Steakhouse for providing the food for this event, and to individual donors for providing AMAZING raffle items - almost everyone in attendance won something!

This is the first of many annual events at Missouri Place, and we can’t wait for more celebrations with the families we serve!
